On this full-day private tour of two famous historical sights in the Puglia region, you'll get to see the unique homes of the area's past inhabitants and learn about their culture.
Starting from Bari, you'll make your way to the city of Matera to explore the distinctive cave dwellings of the Sassi di Matera district. These millennia-old cave-homes are a part of the district's UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will also make a trip to the Casa Grotta nei Sassi museum to learn about the history of the cave residents.
After a break for coffee, the tour will continue to another UNESCO World Heritage Site – Alberobello – where you can visit the unusual cone-shaped houses called 'trulli'. You can round off your tour with a tasting of olive oil, wines and other local items before heading back to your accommodations.
