The apartment is brand new. Everything was well thought of and is of repute brand. The location is exactly as promised, around 12-15 min walk from gengenback station. There is a bus stop just outside the apartment. The old town main street is very nearby, around 5-7 min walk. Grocery store is at a distance of around 700 Mtr. The kitchen is well equipped and has good stock of materials. Crockery and furniture are of Ikea and looks brand new. Owners are very friendly and fulfilled our smallest of requirements. Konus card is provided by owner which will make your black forest region public transport free (except high speed trains, special trains, cable cars etc. Please refer konus card policies). If you want a peaceful, serene stay then gengenback will give you that. There is nothing to explore in the town so don't spend much time exploring it rather go out and explore triberg, Baden Baden etc.

This place is the absolute BEST. - VERY clean: I have never in my life stayed in such a CLEAN place - not a speck of dust to be seen (not even when I tried looking for it in places like the faux cactus decor)! - Bathroom: HEATED FLOORS! These are a comfort I wish I could have in my normal life - Pillow: european pillow with additional memory foam topper which saved my neck - Bed: super comfy - Couch: they definitely did not go with a cheap option and we were comfy watching tv for hours - TV: not locked down so we could easily connect our phones to it - Location: the town is pretty small so everything is close by - Coffee: automatic coffee machine (and beans) provided. Milk in the fridge also. - Kitchen: fully equipped but we did not use it (stuff looked brand new) - Laundry: washer and dryer (samsung) on the bottom floor (washer pods provided)

Haus Nilson is the perfect place to stay in Gengenbach and make it as a base to explore Black Forest. Robin was very helpful, responsive and proactively helped us out with so many things. To stay here you definitely need a car and Robin went out of his way to help us secure a rented car (it was a long weekend, we were struggling but he had everything sorted for us). Robin's recommendations, tips were very helpful and really helped us plan our time in Black Forest well. The apartments are perfect for a big group / couple and there are many options. The apartment was well equipped, very clean and offered great views and surroundings. The kitchen is very well equipped if you want to cook. The beds were comfortable and the rooms are nice, spacious and well lit. We would definitely come back to Haus Nilson for our next trip to Black Forest

We were a family of 3 (2 adults and a 7yo). We accidently locked the keys inside and had to bother the host with the situation we had put ourselves in. But he was very kind and gracious to help and promptly dropped a pair of replacement keys for us. The apartment was very nice and tastefully decorated. For future guests, we would highly recommend this wonderful apartment

Great location in a timber framed building at the heart of the old town. Two steps away from the Christmas Market. Really nice apartment, warm and cosy, well decorated with excellent facilities. The owner went the extra mile by picking us up from the station and providing free coffee beans throughout the stay. Thanks Koran! We stayed 4 nights and there is lots to see in the area and we made full use of the KONUS card catching trains to other parts of the of the valley.

The apartment was spacious, clean and looked exactly like the photos. It was equipped with everything we needed. Marie and Thomas were friendly and helpful. For us the location was perfect with a twenty minute walk into the centre of the historic old town with lots of restaurants. As part of paying the tourist tax Thomas provided us with a Konus card which gave us free travel on all trains in the Black Forest area and reduced admission to museums.
