We really enjoyed our two day stay. We walked around each of the areas and visited the castle and church. We thought the castle was an excellent experience - it is huge and very well maintained and excellent value for money. We were half board in our hotel but there are better places to eat out. We had a tasty lunch right by the sea. All staff were friendly smiley and helpful. We loved it.

We totally fell in love with Peñiscola, it has such a lovely feel to it, very friendly, great beaches. We ate in a pizzeria on the sea front, great views. It’s easy to walk to the castle area, where you’ll also find lots of little local shops for your souvenirs, a treasure trove of discovery

The old town is great for spending a few days in - Book one...
The old town is great for spending a few days in - Book one of the top two rooms at Dios Esta Bien B&B as then you have a great place in the old town from which to explore with great food & hosts, as well as being able to get away from the crowds by retreating to your own private terrace which then gives you access to the roof terrace. The hostel does not have a lift, but on the plus side, it avoids walking up and down the hill if you are not staying in the old town. The rest of Peñíscola is a big and well laid out resort - We were fortunate to be there just before Easter when it was quieter, but it does get very busy during the holiday season, so pick your time if only spending a few days here. The food and drinks at the B&B are very good and we can highly recommend the restaurant La Taverneta de Sant Roc just down the same street - their T-bone steak was amazing and they were charming hosts. Personally, the whole resort is a bit too big for us when considering a holiday, but everyone should visit and spend a few days in the old town - it’s got a real buzz and vibe about it, and best time to go would be before and after main summer holiday season unless you like crowds

I most liked visiting the castle and the old town...
I most liked visiting the castle and the old town surrounding the castle. This is well worth a visit. The town has great beaches, but there are many shops and restaurants closed during the wintertime.

Absolute waste of money.
Absolute waste of money. Run down accommodation, no parking g in town, very touristy, and full of people with selfie sticks. The castle although huge has nothing specifically interesting except the views.

definitely a place worth a visit, the old town and castle...
definitely a place worth a visit, the old town and castle are a must (probably not good if you have mobility issues). We visited in December and the town was decorated for Christmas, really nice (and busy). we stayed for 3 nights but used Peniscola as a base to visit Morella. We think 2 days is more than enough if you don't want the beach, however if it is the beach you want then Pensicola is perfect.
There are a multitude of restaurants to choose from and seafood is a speciality.
Loved it.
The hotel is in a good location. It is made up of several rooms on one floor of an old apartment building behind the restaurant/reception building that faces the beach. The Peñiscola castle is just a 20 minute walk. The AC and TV worked fine. The breakfast was very good with fresh juice, coffee, yogurt, sweat bread, toasted bread, and a plate of jamon and queso. The staff was friendly.
Great small, older, no frills, local hotel. On the beach. Get a room with a balcony, absolutely worth it. Check in and out was easy...Gracias Pablo! Parking outside. Breakfast on the roof top, "Perfecto"! The best thing is the castle (GOT), out the door to the right, and the olde town. To the left is typical Spain Tourist Hell. Kilometers of developed hi rise condos on the beach.
this hotel is situated on the Peñiscola boulevard, excellent hotel, with an exceptional good breakfast.
the staff is very friendly and service is done with a smile, something which I believe is important.
worthwhile returning here.
there is a parking right across from the hotel (the automation has a bit of an issue with foreign license plates... but thus is easily solved.
Right in the middle of the old town.Tiny balcony but a view of the castle.Peniscola is a lovely town great beach 5 km long. Not very busy as low season. Not sure what it will be like in peak season.Loys of small cobbled streets. You can easily get lost.Castle was closed from the 8th till the 21st of april still nice to walk around it.
Excellent staff throughout the hotel . Great location for sea front and the castle. Secure underground parking at a very reasonable price . Clean . Beds very comfortable .. though single beds pushed together for a double! Appreciated the bottle of water on departure. Airy and pleasant entrance area
Vintage decor emblematic of the rich history of Peñiscola. The common areas, dining room, lobby, garden and pool were beautifully maintained and attractive. The free parking was appreciated but very tight spaces for anything bigger than a compact car. Breakfast service was exceptional.
Great location, just below the entry to the old town and castle. I liked this hotel - it not a posh 4 star and OK the reception area and dining room are dated but my room was great and the view from the balcony as good as anywhere in Peniscola. Good value for money
This was a very nice small hotel. There was a large, comfortable bed, and we liked the sea creature theme on the bathroom door. The front of the hotel faced a big plaza at the foot of the old town. You could see the harbor across the plaza, from our balcony.
The breakfast was good but as we were travelling it did not open until 8.00am. The tables were set out very nicely.
The location of the hotel was good next to the hotel Peniscola palace we normally use.
But it was closed until march.
The hotel was right across the street from the gorgeous beach and only a 10 minute walk from the Old Town. The street was lined with restaurants. The view from the balcony was fantastic - could see the ocean and the castle.
This was a perfect place to stay in Peniscola! Calm neighbourhood, beautiful views from the balcony, TV had netflix, apartment had everything you need and was very cosy. Sebas was a friendly host!
this hotel retains great character from the past, with good facilities, great breakfast buffet, nice garden/bar area and pool. The room was well appointed with a nice balcony facing the sea.
Great location, right on the beach, within short walk to the old town and fortress. Parking is right across the street from the hotel. Clean hotel with attentive, friendly service.
Excellent location with views over the Peniscola bay. Within the old town virtually next to the castle. Myriad of restaurants within minutes. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Traveled with family on our holiday on our way to Barcelona. Accommodation was good and close to all the sites and attractions that Peniscola has to offer. Highly recommed.
Lovely hotel in an amazing location, we were made very welcome by Alicia and family who are the perfect host.
We will definitely be back for another visit.
