Go early - Europe starts from 9am so if you want to see the Stradum without the crowds, around 8am will give you a much better view for photos that are not all photo-bombed by everyone else in love with this historic city.

Get in early to miss crowds, lots of cruises come in so check how many ships are in the day/days you are going in to town. Great place to people watch and have coffee or drinks and just relaxing and enjoy.

Nice vibe on the street. Plenty of action but can get quite crowded. Busy in late September which should be off season so could be uncomfortable in mid-summer. Lots of walking tour groups clog up the streets.

Gets very crowded during the day but a wonderful place to stroll in the evenings when the air cools down and you can walk up and down with an ice cream. The kids playing along and old couples walking hand in hand, brings a smile to once face.

The main strip of Old Town.

The main strip of Old Town. Insanely crowded, but that in itself can be fun for people watching and the pure chaos of of all if you know what to expect! Take a right or left into the tiny alleys for a totally different experience.

    Be cautious.

Be cautious. Overpriced shops and one owner (jewelry store called Roberto Studio) tried to charge us the same price in Euro for what was really marked in Kunas. Saw the same thing in other shops at the same price in Kunas.

Slavica is a wonderful friendly host! She met us at the apartment upon arrival and was super helpful throughout the stay. We loved this apartment and felt like “locals” in the old town. It is a unique style (cool kitchen built into the rock wall), is close to The Stradun and all the sites but far enough away from the bars/restaurants to be lovely and quiet at night. Very happy with our stay!

R&C Apartment is a great place in Old Town. The location cannot be beat. Just steps from the Pile Gate and right off of the Stradun (which was important because I had a disability when we visited. The apartment is very well furnished and modern. It has many nice touches and the kitchen was fully equipped. The owners even left us some things to get started. Speaking of, the owners were very easy to communicate with and answered a number of our questions... Great. I would return and recommend this place to my friends.

Very nicely located within a 5 minute walk (with no stairs) from the Pile Gate entrance in the Old Town. Located on a side street lined with restaurants, the apartment was quiet and removed from the large crowds roaming the Stradun. The accommodations were great with fully equipped kitchen, sitting area and the rear patio that was a nice place to sit and plan our days. The bedroom and bathroom were comfortably sized. Would stay here again.

Great location. Much fewer steps than most apartments. Close to the Stradun but far enough off to be much quieter. The help that met us at Pile Gate took our luggage down the Stradun and up all the steps (about 10 in all) to the apartment. The apartment was spacious with good temperature controls, plenty of seating, comfortable bed, lots of outlets.

Monika was a wonderful host and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the adorable apartment we stayed in (1 queen, 2 twins). It was in a perfect location (we had windows that overlooked the lively Stradun), incredibly clean (probably one of the most immaculate properties I have seen), and had everything we needed. There were also air conditioners on both the main floor and loft, which was an asset in the intense heat. Highly recommend.

The hotel clerk was courteous when checking us in. He upgraded us to a beautiful room with a balcony and paintings. The breakfast next morning was very good serviced by good staff. It's inside the city wall off main street Stradun, near many restaurants, shops, and groceries. We could store our luggage when we checked out to walk the city wall and palaces nearby. Would recommend it!

The location of Vivaldi apartment is excellent, less than 5 minute walk to the Stradun. The room looks exactly like the pictures - very clean and lovely decor. The host was particularly helpful and accommodating, especially with helping us search for fit to fly covid test centres in Dubrovnik. Would definitely recommend staying at this apartment!
