Wonderful small town on the sea coast, with great restaurants, beautiful views, nice shops, lots of history. I ate along the sea walk several times, got a local private tour, took a bus to the nearest town Portoroz. Would highly recommend seeing Piran!

Right up there with the Amalfi Coast and Cinque Terra in the gorgeous seaside village sweepstakes. Breathtaking views everywhere you look. Pretty main square with beautiful 18th and 19th century architecture. Crystal clear water for swimming, although there are no sand beaches, but piers and jetties. Lots of nice restaurants with sea / sunset views

Piran is a very compact town so it is easy to walk but take care with the uneven cobblestones. There is a wide range of eating places. The cement area in front of the sea was a surprise: there is no sand. The free shuttle was handy for getting luggage from the very expensive parking garage (the only option for visitors). Our hostess, Bruna, was a memorable part of the visit.

Piran is an idyllic peninsula of Slovenia, it's a very small village and therefore; I wish I'd stayed less than the 3 nights I did. The nearby towns are bigger and more touristy and have little to offer in terms of culture.
I'd highly recommend using Piran for its ferries, the walking tour that includes food tasting and the salt spa/pans that are able to be reached by bus. But, also relaxing in the sun by the sea and enjoying the delicious restaurants.

We really enjoyed Piran because we experienced it solely on foot. We left our car at our apartment on the hilltop. You can enter Piran by car through a policed barrier or park in the public car parks on the hilltop or cliffside but they looked pricey and very busy - cars queueing.
Piran has atmosphere, lots of charm and character from the fine square with its clock tower boasting views over to Italy (modelled on the tower in San Marco Venezia) The maze of tiny streets with peeling paint in ice cream colours, laundry flying from balconies, geraniums pouring from window boxes, a fine harbour, places to swim and some fabulous restaurants made this town a delight to explore. It feels very southern mediterranean with its crystal clear blue green waters, gelato cafes selling pistachio and peach ice cream. Everyone was friendly when I tried to order in Slovenian. Locals wish you Good Day
We felt Slovenia was a top destination with so many contrasts from bear-watching to climbing in the Julian Alps, kayaking over Lake Cerknica and white-water rafting on the Soca River - what a country!

Piran is beautiful and definitely worth a visit however there are a lot of hills so be prepared. I also would recommend coming by car, as we had planned to take the bus. It arrived full and then we had to spend €150 on a taxi as there wasn't another bus that day. Even if you have a ticket you are not guaranteed a seat which is a terrible system.
Great location - near to quality restaurants & water, very clean, a very responsive and pleasant host, very comfortable bed, well equiped kitchen. Piran is a no car city so if you are travelling with a car, one needs a little patience to drive into the port area, drop bags off, collect keys and parking ticket for the car garage reduced rate, and then take the car back up to the parking lot, and then use the free bus to come back to centre of Piran. One cannot avoid this wherever they stay in Piran.
We made breakfast by ourselves in the kitchen on the top floor of this special very old house (I think 700 years old house). The house is a part of the old medieval centre, which is inside the old town walls right on the seaside. Maybe 15 metres from the shore. Parking is difficult, of course, this cannot be changed. It is not advised to park down in the town, it is too small for so many tourists and cars. I recommend Arze parking, if you like a small hike around 10 mins - pleasant experience.
The staff are very helpful and kind and gave me lots of information about what to do in Piran and how to walk to Strunjan beach, which was beautiful. The hotel is stylish and clean and my room was lovely and spacious. The bed is very comfy and you even have a washing line outside the window, which was very helpful for drying my swimming things. The hot breakfast was delicious too and the best coffee I had in Slovenia.
Clean and comfortable basic apartment. Very friendly and helpful host. Great location, a 5 minute walk to old town. Convenient parking included, so no need to park in a lot outside the old town and walk in. The price seemed high, but all the Piran accommodation appears to be expensive, so this is probably in line with the others given that it includes parking.
The appartement is exploited by a lovely family. They make you feel like home and help out wherever they can. Exemplary was the parking arrangement they could make which is very difficult in Piran. They also helped out with carrying the luggage and offerted us a drink on their terras at the arrival.
Very nice apartment, just enough for two people. Excellent location in the heart of Piran. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, gave us detailed instructions upon arrival. Piran center is out of parking limits, so be prepared to carry your luggage depending on where you park.
Located outside main Piran, this property provides a quieter experience. A path leads down to the beach with a pleasant restaurant right there. It’s an easy walk into Piran to see the sights and find plenty more eating options. Secure parking onsite and sea views from your balcony
Great breakfast right at the sea shore, incredible view, best location, parking is a bit complicated but the hosts help you navigate the first time and then it's smooth, also the host lent us their parking card so it was cheaper and more flexible
Small apartment, but clean and good for a few days stay.
Good location in quiet part of town, but not too far from beach and in walking distance to the old town of Piran.
Very good breakfast
Parking right in front of the apartment
Peter Kastelić, the property manager, is the friendliest and most detailed person I've ever encountered with a vacation rental!! I cannot recommend him enough. His office is opposite the Hotel Piran. He is quite simply the best.
Great location, clean and spacious apartment with fully equipped kitchen. Smooth check in for late arrivals and in detail information for the whole process of parking-in and out of city of Piran. Free parking came really handy.
The location was absolutely perfect, right on the harbor. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, which was clean and spacious. Parking was free, which otherwise would have been ~20 euro/night at the parking garage.
The property was very easy to find by car and has free parking. There is a decent walk to downtown, but wasn't too hard for us. The kitchen is well equipped, there is a washer, and air conditioning worked great.
Great little apartment. Very comfy bed. Had everything we needed and parking was brilliant. Super friendly host.
Main part of Piran was a lovely 10-15 min walk (uphill on the way back).
The location was very good but there was no parking in Piran - which we didn't know ahead of time so we had to park in a lot in the next town over and walk into Piran. :(
Great location, right next to the sea, city center square and restaurants. Outstanding staff and service with free shuttle from/to parking garage. Breakfast is excellent.
