I would have liked to have more time to get up in the mountains and hike, visit the glacier, and explore Vestmannaeyjar islands. The property was very convenient to explore many attractions, like Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, and also not too far for a day trip to Vik.
The restaurant experience and food were the best of our entire trip, we were welcomed and discussed wanting to see the northern lights. While at dinner the chef came and told us that the lights were active (unfortunately not for long) and that he would keep our food warm while we went out, we then got a knock on a hotel door approx. 30mins after leaving the restaurant and it was the chef again prompted the lights (PS. we got engaged under them)!
We appreciated the attentiveness and going that extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
We were on our honeymoon and hotel Anna surprised us with a beautifully decorated bed with roses and decorative swan towels! This was the only hotel that took the effort of surprising us with this and we loved it! We also had one of the best dinners of our trip here. The lamb with the toasted mushroom sauce was great and the cod was also super fresh! We ended the night with the hottubs which were at the perfect temperature and with an amazing view of the mountains. We definately will be returning when we come back to iceland.
Everything.
It was in a lovely location, away from the main road and very quiet. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. We only stayed one night, the first in Iceland, and it was a fantastic start to our holiday.
All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast was the best we had all our holiday, freshly made and amazing.
Can’t recommend this hotel enough, it was a great find….a little gem!
The Hotel is amazing. Our room was spacious, comfortable and warm. The staff gave us a warm welcome once we arrived and was really helpful and professional. The building is very well maintained and remains in a very good condition, especially bringing the warm and cozy atmosphere. We visited the hot tubs outside and absolutely loved it. Breakfast had good choices of dishes and everything was delicious. Thank you, Hotel Anna for a wonderful experience.
We have been tranfered to Skogafoss Hotel because of an overbooking due to a system fall. Our stay was beyond expectations. the hotel feel quite sorry for it and we appreciate very much their kind gesture. The room was great, so was the lamb soup at the restaurant and the breakfast.
Beautifully redone rooms that kept the old traditional look. The restaurant was especially cute. A lot of historical things to look at to get an idea of what Iceland used to be like. We had a horse ride at the place at the place next door.
A wonderful hotel in a picturesque corner of Iceland. We stayed in an apartment - spacious, clean, comfortable. Great bed. Everything you need. Wonderful breakfasts . Friendly helpful staff. Great dinners at the hotel restaurant!
We found the hotel welcoming and cozy, restaurant was also very nice and we loved the food. We used the outside hot tubs and they were a wonder of relaxation with all the storm around us.
Beautiful hotel and very quaint. We arrived late and the chef agreed to cook us dinner which was very kind and the food was really delicious! Hot tub was wonderful
