Reykjavik is a great little town! It’s small and can be completely seen in a short amount of time but we had a really fantastic time here and would certainly come back. Great restaurants, bars, and views!

I've visited here a few times now and it never ceases to bring me joy. It seems like everytime I come back I find something new, someplace new, and I meet such amazing (and nice) people. It truly is a great city and should be on everyones bucket list.

Its a very expensive city with a pint of beer averaging 1800 ISK which converts to over £10 GBP. The people are lovely, friendly and polite and the restaurants we visited were amazing. We tried most of the local delicacies and pretty much every food establishments food we tried was top notch. Although I wouldn't return to Iceland, I am certainly glad I have visited the country and experienced what it has to offer.

Reykjavík is an attractive, compact city with an artsy vibe,...
Reykjavík is an attractive, compact city with an artsy vibe, be we really only spend one day & a couple of evenings in the city. It’s a great starting point for exploring Southern Iceland, including the Golden Circle, the south coast & the Reykjanes peninsula. That’s doable ‘self-drive’ in 4 days - to see more of the country requires a longer stay or excessive amounts of driving. We found the driving was no problem - certainly easier than most European cities we’ve visited. Electric scooters were popular to get around the centre. Food is expensive but we bought supermarket sandwiches & had flasks with us to take our own coffee, so that saved a fair bit; fuel & parking were comparable with the UK & there were plenty of free natural attractions. There are some cheap street food type options for eating in the city, but restaurants & bars are very pricey. If you want to do lots of activities & visit indoor attractions, the price could skyrocket, but we just went for the scenery so spent very little.

FLY OVER ICELAND - A must!!!
FLY OVER ICELAND - A must!!! As is The PERLAN centre - A must!!!
Whales are living in the port harbour area, so you will see them. Blue lagoon was magical! Elderly parent with cold & aches, came out pain free!
Everything within walking distance, and parking available everywhere - roads are quiet for driving and easy to navigate. We drove golden circle ourselves in our own time and saved money. Very expensive all the tours & everything. Amazing time was had - def not long enough - need to visit again in the summer next time. Just amazing!

Loved walking around the city and felt safe at all times.
Loved walking around the city and felt safe at all times.
Visited an excellent local coffee shop, Te & Kaffi.
On previous visits, I did not have time to go up the tower at Hallgrimskirkja and so made the time and it was well worth it for the views around the city.
The only downside to Iceland is the high cost of food and drink to what I am used to, but the quality has been excellent.
I did shopping for snacks and gifts in Bonus. One chocolate bar in a corner supermarket was 649 ISK, and 389 ISK in Bonus!
The accomodation was clean and the location is really perfect, the BSÍ bus terminal was close by, it's a walking distance to the city centre, plus there are a bunch of day trips where a bus will pick you up directly from the hostel. The rooms, beds and bedding were simple but quite comfortable and clean. There are a lot of bathrooms on every floor so even with the hostel almost full, I never waited too long for one. The kitchenette has everything you need to make a quick. For such a cheap price, this is really an amazing place to stay.
This is a great place to stay. It's an older building, but it is clean, has helpful staff, and it's affordable. It's close enough to walk to downtown Reykjavik, Harpa, the waterfront, etc. It's off on a quieter sidestreet. There's a Bonus grocery store close by. Breakfast was very nicely laid out in a dining room area with breads, meats, cereals, etc. Very quiet. The rooms are not fancy, nor large, and ours had twin beds. But for a clean, quiet place for a quick visit to Reykjavik this was a great deal.
A nicely located hotel just a few minutes walk from downtown Reykjavik. The rooms are clean and reasonably spacious and have all of the necessary facilities. The beds are very comfortable and the shower very efficient. The staff are very friendly and helpful - a problem that I had with my billing was sorted out very quickly with the reception staff. Given the location and quality of this hotel, the pricing was more than reasonable. The included buffet breakfast was very good with a lot of choice.
Rooms are spacious for Iceland however there are no bath tubs only showers. The hotel is almost a mile from the main downtown are so you’ll do a lot of walking.
The hotel is not near anything nor is it close to public transport. The lobby is gorgeous and the amenities are first class. The shampoo, other items in the bathroom are superb. On the plus side: Because the location is far from downtown it’s quiet at night. I saw some of the other hotels downtown and they were tiny and spartan.
Fantastic hotel!! It’s in the middle of downtown Reykjavik so everything is in walking distance. It’s really close to bud stop 9 so you are able to walk a few minutes and go really anywhere. It was very clean and we felt safe the entire time. The staff was amazing and offered free coffee and were always willing to answer any questions. Whenever we needed a taxi they would call one for us so it was less of a hassle. 10/10 experience!
The hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of the city but somehow managed to stay away from the noise. The rooms were absolutely lovely and kept spotlessy clean and restocked daily. Dont start me on the bed.... So comfy! Slept like a log.The breakfast was also really lovely and plenty of choice.. Staffed by very cheery and helpful staff. All put together... We had the best few days in Reykjavik. I would strongly recommend.
The personnel was really nice and the room and the bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. The localization was amazing, right in the city center - close to the airport, the bus station, shops, restaurants, and bars.
If I ever come to Reykjavik one more time I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in a nice hostel and have their own little kitchenette at quite a low cost.
The room was perfect and location was great! Room had an espresso machine, comfy bed, two windows, heat, a TV, and they provided converters for US plugs which none of the other places I stayed in Iceland had. It was easy to walk to downtown Reykjavik from the guesthouse, but far enough out of the main drag that there was always parking in front. The bathroom was modern and comfy bathrobes were a nice touch.
Nice stay in the Center of Reykjavik. Breakfast was very good and the staff was very attentive and nice. We had a kettle and tea and coffee in the room. Even though we had a room on the first floor, it was still quiet.
Bus from the bus station (if you take the bus from the airport, it first brings you to the bus station and you take another bus to the city there) stops 1 min walking distance from the hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of our Iceland trip. We liked the location and the environment. It is 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik and 40 minutes from the international airport. We stayed at the bigger room (11) with a balcony facing the lake. The room was very clean and spacious for 3 of us. The hotel breakfast room has a great view of the lake and breakfast had many choices.
IG is a great value! It is in a really awesome location, right by the famous church! It also has lots of easy street parking. It is close to the downtown city center so you can walk everywhere around Reykjavik. The bed, showers, and common areas were all clean and comfortable. The best part was the people I met! Really fun and interesting people! Also the service was amazing and generous.
Fantastic location located opposite Harpa Concert Hall. Very centrally located. Easy to walk to most things in downtown Reykjavik.
Sky Bar was great with lovely views and a great breakfast selection. This hotel actually had the best breakfast and the widest variety out all the hotels we stayed in (9) in Iceland.
Staff members were generally quite nice.
One of the nicest hotels we've ever visited! Fantastic city centre location, room was beautiful, breakfast was great and all staff on reception were extremely helpful. They allowed us to check in early after having driven for three hours through a blizzard to reach Reykjavik and also helped organise our bus transfer to Keflavik Airport.
It was very close to Bus Stop #4, which is where most excursions and the airport drop off/pick up stops at. We also loved the industrial vibe of the hotel along with the in-house sauna. We highly recommend Exeter because of the location to the downtown area and the daily breakfast included was delicious. Well done, Exeter!
Perfect location. we traveled a lot while visiting Iceland. This apartment was in the perfect spot to get you outside of Reykjavík and onto the main roads. Downtown Reykjavik was actually our first choice, but that booking was canceled. This was our second choice and it turned out to be much better.
It is in the downtown, I liked the kitchen and the restaurant downstairs, also the Reservation Manager understood that we were very tired due to long travel, so allowed early check in that I liked very much, it is also cheaper than another hotels
This was probably the best value for where we were situated in the city. If you want to stay in city center Hotel Von is a great option. The staff was very helpful with finding taxis and parking.
great location, couldn’t get much better.restaurant,s really near and airport bus and trip buses pick up right at the door . could not recommend this hotel highly enough ,even though not cheap
Location was good and price was more affordable than all the other hotels we searched near downtown Reykjavik. Had a shared fridge which we could use. Linens were clean
