The property is unbelievable!! The hosts did such an amazing job taking care of every possible need we could have !
We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property.
Also would wish to have more bathrooms and/ or separate toilets considering it is a 4 bedroom house. We all had to time our mornings to use the bathrooms and toilets.
Have to comment on the beds !! They were soo comfortable and the pillows were phenomenal. Felt like home beds! It was the first place to be able to sleep soundly after several days of touring Iceland.
The location is very tricky. we ended up going to 311 bifrost to find a house but found a hotel guest there who reminded us of the possibility of a differenct location. The rules were very clear address. We had forgotten about the manual that Robert sent us 🙈.
Gistiheimilið Hvita is located in Borgarbyggð, overlooking the Hvita River. Free WiFi access is available. Traditional Icelandic dishes can be enjoyed at Guest house Hvítá's in-house restaurant.

Very easy and flexible check-in and check-out. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The biggest advantage of this place is an opportunity to walk outside the farm and pet sheep or Icelandic horses.

We stayed overnight the last night of our drive around the island. One of the things that made me book was “Breakfast included”. Their breakfast starts at 8am, which was too late for us-had to get on the road to the airport by 8am. If I had known breakfast hours I would have looked at other hotels.

Dinner at the hotel was the best meal I had in Iceland. We loved having the animals nearby. We had a good view of the northern lights. The rooms were comfortable. The shower was great. Located near some hot springs. I would have liked to have stayed longer.

Our second return to this gorgeous hotel, nestled into the hillside on a working farm. Cosy, clean rooms and the most delicious breakfast! Evening meal was very good too in the very ambient restaurant.
If you love the outdoors ( & this is the country for you if so) then to sit under the stars ( & Aurora if you’re very lucky) in the geothermal hot pool next to the mountain stream, is nothing short of magic. There is also a huge outdoor fire pit to warm up beside on cold nights.
We love this place & will definitely return.
It’s easy to reach from the main road yet feels truly remote & wild once you are inside. A short trip from other natural wonders too...
Fabulous!

I stayed in Bifrost to be in the middle of KEF Airport and Olafsvik; it was a scenic area, and felt safe. I could not have stayed here without a rental car, though, since my activities ranged from a 40 minute drive (Fossatun) and a 2 hour drive (Olafsvik). Still, Bifrost is beautiful and driving around feels like sightseeing in itself.
