High quality apartment, beds great etc.
High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

There was a lot of noise.
There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.

Cute small town with a pretty waterfall at the top of the hill. A couple of restaurants and a small market were easily available. The hotel we stayed at was outside of the town itself but was an easy drive away. The town was also close to many beautiful sights, including Vatnajokull National Park and Diamond Beach.

Great location, especially if you are in Iceland only for couple of days, this would be one of the best choices. From this location, you can make several amazing trips to the surrounding locations. The most interesting places offered by southern Iceland are reacheble from this area as a "base camp".

The location is amazing. Reasonably close to a town but in a quiet, rural setting by a lake. The bungalows are adjacent to Hotel Laki and breakfast was served there. Our bungalow was one of the original ones built in 1973. It was cute, if a little tired looking on the outside but lovely and clean on the inside. Might be a little cramped if there were more than two in the one bedroom bungalow. The shower was great. The beds were a bit too soft for our comfort but the bed linen was so clean and lovely quality.
The apartment is like motel in US that you can park your car close to your room. The amenities are super complete. The building is also quite new I believe. The room has kitchen with everything we need, except oil. But everything is there. The place is suitable for couple visiting Iceland. The place is built on an open space, out of nowhere in Iceland, so during my stay we could see aurora borealis 2 nights in a row. Very good place. Really recommended to everyone!!
We checked in quickly and easily. Our room was basic but had all we needed.
The bathroom facilities were shared but very clean and well-maintained
Pleasant outlook onto the Icelandic countryside
Huge common area downstairs with plenty of kitchen facilities and space to move
Overall an excellent establishment and great value for money
The apartment is very new. Everything is clean and tidy. Renovation and decoration is modern. The water is hot enough in the shower. The water pressure is big unlikr many guesthouse in iceland. The sofa bed is very comfortable and well made. I like the place very much. Will come again in my next visit. 😊😊😊😊
cabin was charming, clean and comfortable
food at restaurant and breakfast was delicious
customer service was the best that we experienced during our whole trip to Iceland
went above and beyond preparing us a packed breakfast when we had to leave for a tour before breakfast started
Outstanding property, so comfy and with a lovely restaurant on site. We had the best nights sleep of our Iceland stay, the beds are heaven! Dinner was amazing as was the included breakfast. They had me at fresh baked bread and homemade jams, but there was so so much more!!
We were upgraded to the Magma Hotel, to a room with a big glass sliding door facing a mild show of the Northern Lights that went on all night. As a result I can't really comment on the Landbrot Guesthouse, but it is in the same location which was wonderful!
GREAT hotel! Friendliest staff if ever experienced in a hotel. Very accommodating and spacious rooms. Rooftop patio to watch northern lights. Breakfast with the room is an huge plus. Overall very happy with this experience! Book now!!
Great location for exploration. there are several lively hikes right near the hotel and the national park is less than an hour away. The restaurant is adequate but not as nice as the one at Hotel Klaustur nearby.
Very clean, quiet and comfortable, which is exactly what we needed. Although we used the kitchen and dining room area it felt like a hotel, especially the bathrooms which were very nice and had nice hot water.
Very quiet and peaceful place, lot of room for the big company. Well equipped kitchen with tea and coffee supplies, washing machine and dryer, hot water doesn't smell of sulfur, what is rare in Iceland.
The self check in process was very easy, and we had the whole cabin to ourselves. The facilities are very clean, spacious, and up to date. One of our favorite places that we have stayed in Iceland.
the location was perfect for exploring Iceland. Tons of waterfalls, hike, gorgeous landscape within a reasonable drive. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was an excellent value
the rooms. Very comfy and a bloody nice terrace.
The restaurant: very expensive like everywhere else in Iceland but above average.
The location in the middle of nowhere as expected.
Great hotel in the middle of nature. Very friedly and motivated staff. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Excellent location from which you can explore South of Iceland.
Cute property with GREAT unexpected hiking trails directly behind the property. Forests as the background which was unlike most of the parts of Iceland we saw!
