Kedves, segítőkész személyzet. Megfelelő tisztaság!
We were in Gyor during snowy December morning. The city is very nice, with a very big historic core for its size and many alive streets and shops comparing to other cities of this size in the region. Plus, it is much cheaper comparing bigger cities in vicinity.
It seems that Gyor is somehow touristicly "invisible" from bigger cities nearby - Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava.
Please, leave at least one full day for Gyor!

It has beautiful baroque architecture, fasionable shops, great restaurants and cake shops to die for. The people are lovely and very helpful. Taxis are relatively cheap. The only down side was the cobbles which get very slippy in the rain.

Very nice historical city.
Very nice historical city. I love cities by river, so I enjoyed my stay very much.
I even had a dinner at the boat in Westy Hajó Étterem & Pub and it was very tasty.
In restaurants they spoke good English and it was possible to pay by card everywhere.
I took a ride with little tourist train (to be paid by cash, they accepted Euro).
I recommend also to visit Pannonhalma Archabbey which is 20 min by car away. It has beautiful library and you can do nice walk in the botanical garden.
It was however hard to search info in English as many pages and information are in Hungarian.

It's a small town.
It's a small town. It is worth to check out for a day or two.
There is a castle that you can go to the top of its tower and get a 360 view of the area ( Püspökvár-Toronykilátó ).
The zoo was recommended to me. There were a lot of animals. There also is a show but I didn't get to see it. Maybe you can.
The area around the Püspökvár-Toronykilátó castle, which I mentioned above is touristic. If you are looking for a place to stay, I'd recommend there.
Higgi The Tiki Bar was a great place. Great staff. It's located in the same touristic area. This bar has a central/southern American theme to it.
The city hall and the train station is also nearby.

Hungary is a special place and they seem to know it, and don't seem terribly accommodating in general to tourism in one specific area...implementation of English signage, and hardly any English except among people under 30. Municipal amenities with English language have not developed much in the 3 decades I've been coming as compared to its neighbors for example. Yes, our hotel's staff spoke good English, the restaurant had a decent English menu, but e.g. a city board with points of interest...only in Hungarian. This is not specific of Győr though...If you can handle this, not communicating too much with locals, you'll love the city anyway for its charm and lovely architecture. Older people not speaking English were nonetheless quite friendly. The city is clean and well-maintained, and my wife, two daughters and I all felt utterly safe both during the day and in the evening. Though we missed the museums, we had a great goulash and enjoyed the Christmas market atmosphere and its many venues. Definitely visit Győr if you go to Hungary as it has a slightly different flavor than Budapest.
I stopped at this hotel whilst crossing Hungary. The location was great, just off the motorway. There are plenty of parking spaces, and even if I arrived quite late, I found one for my car. The staff was really nice and helped me order a pizza, as there is no restaurant walking distance to the hotel. I had a good night sleep here. I booked a triple room as it was the only one left and I was happy that one of the beds was double. The private bathroom was clean, with hot water and good pressure.
It is very close to the university's main campus. You can easily walk to the city center, but it may be hard to get to the hotel from the central station on foot with luggage. There are some markets and restaurants nearby. The staff was very kind and helpful, they were ready to help whenever I asked for something. The room was clean although it looks a little bit old-fashioned. It was still silent and comfortable. The breakfast was okay.
Entering the hotel is like playing an escape room... if someone needs to contact the staff, they can count on help from a nearby store faster than the hotel owner answering the phone... The city is beautiful and it is worth finding a hotel close to the old town... this one the hotel does not have a parking lot and the parking lot in the city charges fees from 8 a.m., which is when the hotel's continental breakfast begins.
The beds were very comfortable. The food was amazing, we ate twice there and it was fabulous. Mangalita short ribs, bbq brisket, beef consome and duck parfait were the best food I ever had anywhere în Europe. În the middle of the night someone made very loud love în the hotel garden which motivated us to do the same. I am really impressed and will definitley go back everytime I pass through Gyor.
It was a practical choice for a sleepover between my hometown Szeged / Hungary and Winterthur / Switzerland.
I was lucky to get a room on the top floor that faced the pedestrian zone and had a balcony where I could enjoy the sunset over the rooftops of Györ.
The Belgian Beer Pub adjacent to the hotel offered a good choice of food and beverages.
Very nice hotel, an old (large) monastery in the centre of Győr with very spacious rooms. The bathroom was fine - small and not luxurious. The breakfast was also ok and included in the price. The room was very quiet. A very short walk and you were at the river or in the old town. Overall very good value as the price was very reasonable.
Near to the station, and also near to the city centre. The hotel is like a bed and breakfast, but with a traditional feeling. The bed was comfortable. The room had air conditioning which could be manually set. A nice minibar was available at decent prices. Breakfast was also freshly made and brought to your table. A very enjoyable stay.
Stuff members went above and beyond of my expectations. They were very friendly, helpful and polite. The location of the hotel was excellent. Super clean room (suite) and the bathroom was clean as well. The breakfasts were awesome and the the outdoor place was an amazing. Definitely I'll go back if I'll be in the town.
We just stayed overnight, and the place was accessible from the highway. However the beautiful town of Györ has much more to offer, and Hunyadi hotel is very close to the city center.
Parking spot, comfy bed, clean bathroom and quiet room is all we needed, and we precisely got that.
Room was decent and warm (December).
The location of the hotel was good, especially for car travel (our case).
Gyor is a very nice city for a short stay. It seems that it was somehow lost in tourist sense between bigger cities nearby - Vienna, Budapest, Bratislava.
Great location (city centre is within walking distance), very good quality furnished rooms, nice breakfast and staff. The place has a possible car parking space for each of its room next to the hotel. In short very competitive price/value ratio in Győr!
The apartment was very big and suitable for our family. The access to the hotel was easy and the parking spots were very useful. Also, the food from the restaurant was good, along with the breakfast
Bed sheets very clean, good value for the money, great location (old town part).
Parking under the hotel great, however a challenge if you have a longer car (~<4.7m)
Free private parking lot
Shower pressure strong
Self service coffee machine
Natural hanging ivy plant
Personable and helpful hostess Lilla

Lovely apartment in a historic building in the old-town of Gyôr right in the center next to cafés, restaurants, shops and sights and the Danube promenade.
