My room was nice and quiet, overlooking a lovely garden, and I loved the fact that it was so close to the centre. I could go walking everywhere. The staff were wonderful, very helpful when I asked them a question, and the Scottish music nights were just the best. I would recommend this guest house to anyone, really. It’s a historic house and it gives you a feeling that you’ve fallen through time.

Our stay was very good. The staff were very kind. The rooms and bathroom were clean and the shower was very good. The location is good and there are bus stops nearby, so we used bus day tickets to save some steps and time. The Scottish music night was a very nice experience!

Visiting Edinburgh with family I wanted a more budget experience. The price was amazing value and just being a 10/15 minute walk from the grass market where the rest of the party stayed. Beds were comfy, shared bathroom toilet facilities. The decoration is a little tired if I was to be really picky, which I wasn't, just setting expectations. I had parking which they didn't. Mine included a modest but perfect continental breakfast, which theirs didn't. In the evening there is Scottish music in the lounge if you want to take part. They will be booking here next time.

The historical qualities. The nightly music provided by Alan with Scottish songs while showing on a big screen scenic areas of Scotland. This is done in a sitting room with a beautiful historical old fireplace. All the staff were very friendly.

It was a great location and easy to access by bus as well, which made sightseeing easier. The proprietors were friendly, and the property was well-kept and clean. House and room access were easy, and even check out in the wee hours was easy - all we had to do was leave the key in the room and leave! My absolute favorite part was the music every evening. We almost missed dinner one evening because we wanted to get to the house to see the music. My only “complaint” would be for the music to be longer! :)

Comfortable rooms with excellent hospitality and a nice breakfast. The guest house has a Scottish music evening with performance of Scottish music and a presentation that includes Scottish and local history - this really enriched our trip to Edinburgh and makes a wonderful welcome to Scotland.
