FAQs about hotels in Salou
On average, 3-star hotels in Salou cost $79 per night, and 4-star hotels in Salou are $148 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Salou can be found for $138 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun water sports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, while inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and roller coasters in themed zones, and a water park with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club featuring 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping center which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great water park for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around a 20 minute drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.
Quiet area good for eating and relaxing. Panders to tourists a bit, so try to eat in more local restaurants if you want better value and tastier food. I would try to avoid eating anywhere along the beach as a lot of them are within the same chain/group which serve a practically identical menu (restaurants like bamboo, boca boca, etc) and their prices are quite expensive for what you get (food is average and drinks watered down). A few days here is plenty to relax, but any more might leave you bored. There were plenty of little supermarkets for essentials, and I would recommend grabbing a light breakfast at any of the michaelangelo locations! It's super cheap and yummy.
The best place we ate for dinner was hands down restaurant tahiti so definitely check that out for great paella.
Beware that there is a monopoly situation on taxis (uber is banned) so taxis are quite pricey (€32 for 15/20 minute ride)

The apartment is well situated in a great little beach town of Salou. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, it offered all the amenities of home. Even a washing machine.
Unfortunately the train service in Salou has been suspended since we last visited but they offer many options of bus service to get to neighbouring Reus or Tarragona and even offer direct bus rides to Barcelona's airport.

Everything about Salou is great.
Everything about Salou is great. Over the last 25 years been 7 ot 8 times. I can't fault anything about it. Good beaches, great hotels and very family orientated. It's such a pleasant place. The airport is close and then there is Port Aventura world which is without doubt the best theme park in Europe. Then there is lovely places adjacent to it in Cambrills, Taragona and La Pineda.
The night life is also very good. No I can't fault this place and hope to return soon..

Definitely not a luxury holiday.
Definitely not a luxury holiday. Decent destination for a quick bout of sun however, I wouldnt rush back. The dining options are definitely lacking as its mostly diners. Again, lack of luxury but you get what you pay for.
The hotel was beautiful, it had everything you needed; a gorgeous big pool, lots of sun loungers, a restaurant, inside bar with entertainment, pool bar, a spa, the list goes on and on. The rooms are super clean and a great size bedroom area and bathroom, we had a sea view so our balcony had the most beautiful view of the pool and the ocean and you could see the sunset every night. They also have bikes to hire for €12 per day and it was about a 10-15 min cycle to salou beach and the main strip, this was our favourite thing we done.
1. Very good conditioning system inside the number, that vitally important in Spain in summer period.
2. The best staff in the Hotel - several times they immediately helped us during our stay (printing flight boarding passes, changing the broken kettle to fully new one). In case of noisy neighbors - hotel staff well resolves and comes neighbors back to the night silent hotel policy.
3. Good Kitchen Facilities - all is here if you plan to cook for yourself and family.
Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from and good value
Didn’t use the pool. Bought tickets to water park at hotel got at discounted rate.
Also got fast passes from hotel too.
So close to the parks and water park.
Big clean hotel.
A Shuttle bus to salou would be a very good idea for customers also a free bus to airport would be a nice touch.
Entrance into park for hotel customers, 30 mins earlier would be a very good idea also.
Very good selection of food for breakfast. Hot food could be hotter on some of the mornings, but overall ok
Many restaurants and fast food outlets local as well as excellent restaurants in the hotel.
Beautiful clean pool and loungers in the hotel grounds.
Train from Barcelona Airport to Barcelona Sant station. Change to train to Salou 1.5 hrs away. Taxi to hotel 10 mins
Portaventura World bus every hour from nearby.
The location, the views from the apartment we could see the pool and the sea. The apartment was spacious perfect for a family with 2 children. Salou at night very spectacular, we liked to go for a walk at night to see the source of lights. The pool and kids activities were good. I imagine that the animation is affected by the covid but even so our children enjoyed the activities. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
The hotel was just perfect!
If you have young children, this hotel is perfect.
The facilities are amazing, the food is decent, the waterpark is incredible, the service is really good.
The rooms are big and comfortable.
I never seen a big hotel which is managed songood as this one.
Congratulations to all the staff!
Even though I reall do not like Salou, we will defenately return to this hotel.

Great location right in the centre of Salou. Hotel is very clean with beautiful air conditioned lobby/bar, the cocktails were amazing. Pool area is lovely with loungers, seats and comfy outdoor couches. Dining room was really nicely decorated, bright & spotless with lovely staff.
The hotel location is good, near the seaside and bus station to other cities. The room is big and has all facilities needed. The rooftop heated swimming pool is great for a morning or afternoon dip.
Beautiful hotel with great pools and a vast selection of hot and cold food at the buffet breakfast. Located very close to Salou centre but not right in the hustle so was quiet enough at night.
Perfect large room, everything is clean. 2 minutes to the beach and the restaurants. Friendly staff. Exceptional breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
