The Gran Canaria capital, Las Palmas, has everything that the Canaries stand for: year-round sun, fantastic beaches and great nightlife. However, the largest city of this volcanic island group is more than just a beach resort: its mix of traditional and modern makes it stand out from the crowd.
Colorful Colonial façades line Calle Triana, a top shopping street, while the Las Arenas shopping complex outside the city is much more contemporary in design. The El Muelle shopping center is near Parque Santa Catalina and the surrounding restaurants, bars and clubs are focal points of Las Palmas nightlife, together with the historic Vegueta district.
Vegueta is also home to Santa Ana cathedral, best viewed from the palm-lined square which houses the Canary Island Museum. Around the corner is the Casa Museo de Colón, where Columbus stayed en route to America. No doubt he sailed from huge Puerto de la Luz whose numerous vessels are guarded by a lighthouse and stone castle.
On the opposite side of the promontory is long Las Canteras beach, lined by a promenade providing great mountain views in both directions. The 5-star hotels by the beach are just some of Booking.com’s Las Palmas accommodations options, alongside cheap guesthouses and apartments, all connected by coastal road to Gran Canaria Airport.

Great to walk all over the city.
Great to walk all over the city. The old town and so many beautiful beaches where there are no tourists. They are all on one beach. Positive attitude from everyone I met. Nice to rent a bicycle and travel on excellent bicycle routes throughout the city. Lots of good restaurants. I was there for a month, it felt way too short.

What an island!
What an island! It has an amazing beach - Las Canteras - and amazing places to visit, eat and relax. It is best to rent a car, but you can also use the public buses, which work really well. The taxis are also affordable and reliable. People are friendly, but not overly invasive of your personal space.

Las Palmas is not a particularly pretty town/city; however the old town of Vegueta is only about 15 minutes on the bus and has both the historic old town with narrow streets, plus the modern shopping street with most of the highstreet shops, and plenty of restaurants and bars.
Las Palmas has many bars and restaurants, as well as the main shopping street Mesa y Lopez, with El Corte Ingles and many more highstreet shops.
There are a couple of indoor shopping centres - one near the Auditorium and one near the port. The Auditorium itself is an interesting building and worth a visit. It looked to have a good programme of concerts too.
There are lots of restaurants and bars on the Canteras promenade but there are also some good ones a block or so back. Lacan (plaza Faray) for pizzas is brilliant but you do have to book, especially at the weekend, and Toma Pan y Moja, which is a small bar on the Canteras promenade is very small and friendly and has some beautiful food and wine. The prawns and the Saharan Calamari are to die for! The bar Ginger further along the promenade serves the best mojitos and La Maravilla a on the next corner does a very good plate of mixed fried fish.

Las Palmas is the biggest city with beaches in canary island and I found it incredible in terms of culture and mentality. The feeling is like traveling in South America, people are easy fun and open minded. I was there for the carnival closure day and it was amazing. Definitely the best carnival I have ever been, and I have been in quite a few.

Locals were very unfreindly toward tourists, I feel very unwelcome .Buildings were not pretty and actually tasteless. Not recommended gran canaria because of hostility toward tourists. There are plenty of sunny places in europe .

Great place for a few days holiday.
Great place for a few days holiday. Lots to see and do - markets, shopping, museums, hiking, beaches, bars, clubs, restaurants etc. Loads of places outside town to visit. Family-oriented place - probably not for people wanting a rave. Plenty of English spoken but smiles if you try your best Spanish. Easy multi-storey car parking with discounts for booking a week or more. Traffic can get really heavy - need to allow for this.

Wonderful appartment in the heart of Las Palmas. 2 rooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 1 shower / restroom, ...
Ideal for family. In the heart of historical city, 10 mn from las canteras beach, and 15 mn from the old port.
You can visit at less than 20mn by foot: las canteras beach, mercadona, coffes, restaurants, corte ingles, elder museum of science, aquarumium, ....
Very nice and helpful staff.
We appreciate the early check in and the late check out.
Everything meet our expectations and the description on the website!
Daniele was a very, very nice and helpful person who gave us a lot of tips for our stay in Gran Canaria. The apartment is only about 2 minutes from the beach, the nearest supermarket is also about 2 minutes away. The apartment was cozy and super nice, the pictures show the apartment perfectly. The bathroom and kitchen were very well equipped, there were a washing machine, a hair dryer, shampoo, sunblocker etc. We also had everything for cooking: pots, pans, oil, salt, pepper, and coffee.
The perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a break/escape from the mainstream Las Palmas excitement/beach/tourist vibes.
+The relaxed and easygoing vibe.
+The volunteers were very welcoming and friendly.
+I love hostels that use a real key and a real check-in instead of a phone app.
+The rooftop terrace is perfect for relaxing, working out, meditating, or socializing
+The signature room of the property—The Garden—gives the place a unique ambience
We tried several hotels in Gran Canaria and this one was by far the best one - very nice interior, modern and fresh, the personell was professional, the room was comfortable and quite, and the location is excellent as it is a walkable distance to bus stops and in the old town. In addition, the rooftop pool is wonderful and heated.
If staying in Las Palmas, I would gighly recomend staying here for a few nights.
Perfectly located in the Center of Las Palmas, 5 Minutes Walk away from the bus Station to all Sites of the Island, incl. the Airport. Also 2 minutes away from the beach and surrounded by Supermarkes for daily needs.
It was very pleasant to have a kitchen in the Hotel room so that i was able to prepare breakfast before starting the day.
I visited Gran Canaria first and foremost to do cycling.
A hidden gem of a hotel, this place exceeded all of our expectations. Perfect location in the centre of a lovely part of Las Palmas with loads of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The bed was really comfy and the room (and bathroom) was so spacious. Staff were also super friendly and accommodating – would recommend to anyone looking for a bolthole on holiday in Gran Canaria!
Spacious apartment in wonderful location. Great view of the sea , the promenade and the auditorium from the balcony. Shopping centre and buses are at the door step. Very quiet and safe residence complex. Ideal base to enjoy and explore Las Palmas. The apartment has all you will possibly need, lots of cooking utensils, even yoga mat. Perfect for holidays. Highly recommend.
It's a very calm place. You will find all the amenities you need. Very close to the beach, supermarkets, and restaurants. The bed is super comfortable, and the common areas are great, especially for work. Cinthya is charmful and she will help you with whatever you need. On my next trip to Gran Canaria, I will stay here again for sure.
The apartment is spacious and in a great location of Las Palmas. The fact that you have a garage is what makes this the perfect place. The apartment and terrace have everything you need to feel just like home. Very nice decorations, I appreciated that we had two sets of keys and overall the apartment is amazing, but ...
The perfect place to begin a stay in Gran Canaria! Warmest welcome, invaluable help retrieving lost luggage from airline, very good breakfast. phenomenal rooftop pool, bar, quiet place to relax.
A beautiful, refreshing architecture, set on pedestrian streets! Muchissimo Gracias Maria, Isaac, Marta , Paula and all! ❤
This is the second time I have stayed at this property within a month and a half. I found everything improved a bit compared to the previous time. I'm happy for this.
Ps: The next time I come to Gran Canaria I will stay at this property again. I will come to Gran Canaria often for many reasons.
The owner Marco was very friendly!! We talked a lot and he gave us many good tips on what we should see in Las Palmas and the whole Gran Canaria. He told us about the history of the building, which is simply amazing and has a special spirit. We really enjoyed our stay there, thank you very much!!!
The best location on Gran Canaria island! The cliff houses are spectacular, amazing view/sunset and incredibly quiet and calm.
The apartment is large and clean.
The checkin and checkout is easily done via key box and text messages with the host. Very convenient
Great place in a good location. You are in the Old Town of Las Palmas, close to the Cathedral, museums and plenty of cafés and restaurants.
The appartment is quite large, clean and cozy. I have already stayed there 3 times.
Extremely clean place, well situated in Las Palmas historical center (Triana). It offers a lot of space and all necessary commodities. The bed was really confortable and the neighbourhood quite during the night.
Perfect location close to the beach, city and supermarket. The moment you arrive in the appartement it feels like home! If i would go to gran canaria again 100% i would Come back.
This classic hotel has beautifully been upgraded with all the modern amenities and contemporary bathroom design. The surrounding gardens and rooftop bar make this a 5 star hotel.
The location is just perfect, very close to the beach, supermarket and also to the bus station from which you can go in most famous cities at Gran Canaria.
