High up in the east Pyrenees, Andorra la Vella is the capital of the Principality of Andorra and the highest capital in Europe. This beautiful city is a popular ski destination and a major commercial center.
Famous for its natural heritage, the town is separated in two parts. The new part of town is very commercial, while the charming old town is characterized by picturesque stone streets and houses. Visit a local restaurant and enjoy traditional dishes like escudella, which is a stew of chicken, sausage and meatballs.
Relax in the city park or visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley with its glacial landscape. Ideal for all levels of skiers, the ski area of Grandvalira is the largest one in Southern Europe.
Andora la Vella is the trading capital of the Pyrenees, featuring first-class hotels, nice shops and restaurants. Booking.com has several Andorra la Vella hotels, guesthouses, apartments and hostels.
The city has no airport and the train station of L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre is the last one before Andorra, about two hours from Toulouse. There are regular bus services from Andorra-l’Ospitalet to Andorra la Vella.
It was a great few days in Andorra la Vella. Everyone in the Andorra Park Hotel was very service oriented. The hotel restaurant was very good for all meals. They wanted to do everything to make you happy. The town restaurants were friendly and great. We are two times at IZai, a tapas restaurant. Delicious! We enjoyed visiting Roc del Quer overlook and walking across the Tibeta Bridge. Amazing views! We would visit again.

AndBus is very good bus company to go there from Barcelona.
AndBus is very good bus company to go there from Barcelona. Their bus leaves just next to the El Prat airport.
The city centre of Andorra la Vella is nice with many shops, restaurants and cafeteria’s but it is enough for 1 day. Restaurant Big-Ben was a nice French restaurant with variety of foods. Salmon was good!
I would definitely recommend to go the mountain walking tours. I went there with an experienced mountain guide who gives you all the information around the area (history, mountains, endemic plants)
İgnasi was a perfect mountain guide and it is worth to do it!

This place is a year round shopping destination as well as a winter season ski resort. Because of the very low taxes (some non existent) all goods (not just luxury) are at significantly discounted prices than are otherwise applicable in the rest of Europe. Beware however that both French and Spanish border officials are strict about their policing of limits of certain goods (mainly alcohol) that can be brought across their borders.

It's an interesting little capital of a lovely country (or principality, its official designation). I was there in mid-September, a good time for hiking or cycling in the surrounding mountains. The language spoken by native Andorrans is Catalan, but many residents have come from other countries to service the tourist industry, so you will have little trouble if you speak Spanish, French, or English. The prices are reasonable, compared to major cities in other European countries. If you don't have a car, public bus service is pretty good.

Andorra la Vella (the city) is very easy to get by once you get to know their escalators / stairs around the city. It's built in top of the mountain so for most of the walkable/pedestrian streets you need to take a lift in any building you see once you get off the bus station, for example. You will see a lot of parking areas and you can take their lifts to the main pedestrian streets there. Some other buildings like hotels and such will indicate pedestrian crosses THRU their buildings too. We didn't know and asked a policeman who told us of this, otherwise we were kinda lost haha. There's streets that take you to the upper level too, by just walking up the hills, but there seem to be a lot of construction work going on and some of this steep streets are closed off, so it's best to go with the lifts. Fave places: Caldea Spa!! Where to eat: Midtown for brunch and lunch, they have the best american burgers; La Tagliatella for the best Italian pasta; Excalibur for beers, and Criterium Bicycle Cafe for the best coffee and cakes experience!! They even have protein smoothies :) so great! The city center is nice but gets really crowded on Spanish holidays so next time I'll go in the middle of the week and would avoid holidays and weekends.

A wonderful city.
A wonderful city. Around the mountains, there are several walking paths through the mountains from the city. There are thermal springs in the city. The city is lively, there are many modern sculptures, flowing rivers. The environment is very clean. The food in the restaurants is good and inexpensive, and you can choose from various cuisines. The prices in the shops are friendly. I recommend visiting the house museum where the Council of Andorra met. When you buy a ticket, you will also receive an audio guide. People are kind, helpful, they speak English well. I walked around the city because the hotel was close to the center. Easy access to the city by public transport. I went to eat in restaurants near the central street.

Andorra la Vella is not the quite mountain village I expected. It is a thriving small city tucked between gorgeous mountains. As a duty free area it is crammed with shops mostly selling perfumes. The hotel is on one of the major roads near the old section of town. The streets are very busy and it is difficult to pull over to get to the hotel to check in if you are driving. They do have space for a few cars in their carpark on the property for @ €20.00/night.
The room was sparse but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was quite good.
Very very large bedroom, one of the most spacious I have ever slept in Europe. I enjoyed the jacuzzi+walk-in shower bathroom. Nice desk to work from your hotel room. Good breakfast, especially salty part. Centric position, convenient for shopping. I profited the 10% discount card offered by the hotel at a particular shopping centre. Helpful staff. Great restaurant, I loved their bread, next time I will dare to ask for a full basket of bread at any price.
the hotel was very clean and quiet with spacious rooms. My bathroom was almost bigger than the bedroom with gorgeous bathtub and separate shower. The morning breakfast buffet was vast and very tasty. i really enjoyed being at the top of town, near Caldea and just steps away from the very busy shopping street, but not directly on it.
We were offered a change of room. I cannot speak for the original one, but the upgrade was simply the best hotel room I have ever been in. Staff was superfriendly and, though location seemed more oriented towards business and professional meetings, facilities are great for a family trip, too.
A central location for exploring Andorra La Vella, Room was big and spacious and breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice.
I'm not to going to be too negative about the price as Andorra is expensive for hotels, the parking is extra at €15 a day and breakfast was €15 each as well.
We liked everything. We will recommend to our friends for sure and we know where to come back.
We enjoyed how rooms are planned, the location and the people working in the hotel. Reception doing their best to help with any kind of information, very friendly and positive.
The hotel was amazing. Location was great just walking distance from everywhere. The staff super friendly since the first moment we stepped in and also they seemed to be very friendly towards the pets too. Our room was spacious and comfortable and quiet.
Central location!
Comfortable bed.
Nice view and clean room.
Superb breakfast.
Friendly staff.
The hotel has parking but there are maybe 5-7 spaces so we had to park across the road at the shopping centre parking. Was all good and safe (€19 per day).
everything! The room was beyond comfortable and the staff so nice and helpful (the receptionist both of them gave us all the answers and recommended us the best restaurants too)
Definitely choosing this hotel again when we come back.
The property has just about the best views of Andorra La Vella in the whole city. The property has all the facilities you would require. Very well appointed kitchen facilities with 3 x bathrooms.
It's a nice hotel located 5 min walk from the main street of Andorra la Vella and famous Caldea Spa.
Room is quite big and spacious, staff was really nice to us and breakfast wasn't bad.
Even though it's officially not in Andorra La Vella it feels like the city centre (it's a small town). The hotel is for the price acceptable but sometimes you get what you paid for.
Room was spacious and clean, staff was nice and very helpful, location was great for a stay in Andorra la Vella and perfect for a visit to Caldea, breakfast was great
Spacious apartment, garage for the car, two supermarkets just outside the hotel.
Shops, restaurants and bakery within a walking distance.
Staff very friendly.
Truly a family friendly hotel in the centre of Andorra La Vella. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is top notch, facilities are exceptional
